Bushbury Strykers Challenge

The PTBC's first tour stop for 2008 will be at Strykers Bushbury. An old favourite for the Team England tour.

The format will be that used at Bromborough in 2006 and 2007.

Bowltechs Ross Gibson will be on site, taking care of the lane maintenance with the Kegel Kustodian Walker.

Format

One Division (Ladies earn 8 pins bonus p/game throughout)
Eight games qualifying, changing lanes after each game.
The top 32 after qualifying will qualify for the Finals.

Finals - 32 player single elimination bracket - Best of Three Matchplay

We are pleased to announce that the Strykers Challenge will be contested using one of the patterns from the newly launched "Kegel Navigation Patterns".

For this event, the Beaten Path pattern, from the Challenge series will be laid with unquestionable precision by Kegels latest lane machine, The Kegel Kustodian Walker.

The battery powered cleaning and conditioning machine which not only works without a cord, but drives itself from lane to lane leaving the technician with the ability to concentrate on more areas of the bowling centre, such as lane approaches, ball returns, scoring monitors and keyboards etc.

THE STORY:

Kegel realise everyone is searching for some kind of direction. The Kegel Navigation Patterns were created to help proprietors give bowlers those stepping stones in order to improve, compete and reach their full potential.

Until now, there have not been many pattern choices or a difficulty level between 'House' and 'USBC Sport Bowling' patterns. USBC's Sport Bowling is a good description of difficulty but the definition of 'House' only means what bowling has given to it. Even know we realize that means easy lane patterns, to beginning bowlers that description means nothing. With all that in mind, Kegel has created a series of patterns called the Kegel Navigation Patterns.

BEATEN PATH:
This 41 foot pattern is much like the MIDDLE ROAD but two feet longer. Because of this added length, the options of attack will be a little more limited and the pattern will usually play where the most worn or highest friction part of the lane surface is. The players who excel in reading the lanes will easily find the BEATEN PATH and make this pattern look relatively easy. If you veer too far off the BEATEN PATH, it will play more difficult.
