For the first time in the UK, we will be putting out a "dual lane" condition using two Kegel Kustodian Walkers.
In 2000, the WTBA technical committee held a very special meeting to discuss the future of our sport. As a result of that meeting the following conclusions were obtained.
How do we determine a World Class bowler?
To do so we need to look at various areas of a bowlers game, and those areas were worked out to be:-
- Versatility
- Power
- Accuracy
- Repeatability
- Knowledge
- VPARK
It was then decided that the best way to test for these skills on the lanes was by the use of multiple lane conditions. Eventually ending up with a decision on using Long and Short patterns in Championships.
We believe one of the toughest challenges we can offer now is the "dual lane" condition as had been succesfully used in Championships and the European Bowling Tour.
So we present to you the Long and Short Challenge.
During the entire tournament, we will be using two patterns, with the short applied on the right lane, and the long applied to the left.
The patterns in use will be those for in use for the Commonwealth championships being held later in the year, at Belfasts Ice Bowl. (with some possible tweaks dependant on the results of this tournament).
Long Pattern : Kegel Navigation Series - Route 66
Short Pattern : Kegel Navigation Series - Boardwalk
